THE governorship candidate in the recently conducted election of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Plateau State, Dr Nentawe Yilwatda Goshwe, has called for concerted approach and efforts in tackling the activities of bandits in the state.

This came in a press statement signed by the spokesman of #GenerationNext# Campaign Council, Shitu Bamaiyi, and made available to SUNDAY STANDARD in Jos, the Plateau State capital last Thursday.

According to the statement, the candidate said there was a need for collective and methodologically efforts to confront banditry headlong saying, “the resurgence of terrorist attacks on some communities in Mangu, Bokkos, Barkin Ladi and Riyom Local Government Areas, should be handled frontally and collectively by all and sundry.

“It is rather unfortunate and painful that when the people are about to put behind the ugly narrative of terrorism, some miscreants are hell bent on retarding the wheel of progress in the state. So long as the people do not put aside their differences and forge ahead with a unity of purpose, the terrorists would continue to cause mayhem on them.

“There should be collaboration and sharing of intelligence among the communities in the state to forestall any possible terrorist attack. I want to use this opportunity to sympathize with those who lost their loved ones in the affected communities. I want to appeal to the security agencies to put more efforts in tackling insecurity in the state.
