PAWC working to eradicate poverty, create wealth

ADAMAWA State Poverty Alleviation and Wealth Creation says many youth have benefitted from its wealth programmes.

According to Hajiya Aishatu Bawa Bello during a ceremony at the Mahmud Ribadu Square in Yola, the Adamawa State capital Thursday, the programme is targeting 62,443 poor and vulnerable individuals as direct beneficiaries in the state, 1,073 small and Micro Businesses and 156 Wet Market to be upgraded.

Aishatu disclosed that NG-Cares programme had since received the support of the government.

She stressed that Adamawa was one of the first three states that released funds to the DPs barely one week after receipt of advance from the world Bank in March 2022.

“These achievements according to her, wouldn’t have been possible without the brilliant support provided by the Governor especially in the timely release of funds totaling N932 million to the DPs”.

Governor Ahmadu Umaru Fintiri who was represented by his Chief of Staff, Professor Maxwell Gidado said, it was right to Governance when the youth are participants.

His administration he says has done much in the area of ICT, health, agriculture and many others and appealed to the recipients to make good use of the ICT equipment given to them.

In his message delivered by Nsofor Akpobine, Minister of State urged Adamawa State to kick out poverty out of Nigeria.
