Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, governorship candidate in Benue State, Rt Hon Titus Uba has stated that if voted as governor his administration would use the huge agricultural potentials of the state to turn around her economy.
Engr. Uba who stated this recently in Gwer-west and Makurdi Local Government Areas in separate campaign rallies added that the strategy would not only create jobs for the teeming youth but also ensure food security.
The PDP guber candidate noted that Benue as an agrarian state has potentials of becoming the economic nerve center of the nation. He stressed that his administration would explore the comparative advantage of the state in agriculture to make farming attractive and create wealth for the state.
He averred that his administration would also strengthen the anti -open grazing law of the state with a view to protecting the seizure of Benue land from their rightful owners and called on Benue people to vote for him and all other PDP candidates.
The state number one lawmaker also used the occasion to inform the people that he was back on his feet and thanked them for their prayers.
In his remarks, leader of the party in the state, Governor Samuel Ortom said Benue has suffered too long from the ills of the Buhari led federal government and enjoined the people to vote
him as Senator, Engr.Uba as governor and all other PDP candidates to consolidate on the gains of his administration.
He emphasized that Engr. Uba had learnt the act of governance long enough for him to assume leadership of the state and assured the people of good governance if Uba succeeds him.
Other speakers including the acting state Chairman of PDP, Hon. Isaac Mfo, Director – General PDP State Campaign Council, Dr Cletus Tyokyaa, Senator Orker Jev and many others all encouraged the people to vote PDP in the February 25th, 2023, general elections.
The traditional councils of Tyoshin and Makurdi received Engr. Titus Uba and gave their blessings to his candidature.
The occasion also witnessed the defection of thousands of APC members and other opposition parties into the PDP in Gwer West and Makurdi Local Government Areas.
