PLSG debunks rumours of online registration for palliatives

The Plateau State Government has reacted to what can be described as fraudulent activities of some criminal elements who have been calling the attention of unsuspecting public to register online for palliatives.

In a letter signed by Hon. Musa Ibrahim Ashoms, the Commissioner of Information and Communication, it said “The attention of the Plateau State Government has been drawn to a spurious link on the social media, calling on the unsuspecting public to apply on-line for palliatives.

” Apparently cashing in on the well-publicized Federal Government intervention measure arising from the consequences of subsidy removal, the link is at once patently fake.

To be sure, the use of social media to undertake a venture that targets populations that are largely cut off from social media cannot be the method of the Plateau State Government.

Government machinery for undertaking interventions such as this, take into consideration a number of factors including the complexities of the social media for large sections of the populace.

Government therefore calls on the general public to disregard any social media call or link for application for the purported ₦5 billion palliatives funds.
