PLSG to address PPC’s predicament

Commissioner for Information and Communication, Plateau State, Hon. Dan Manjang has assured the Nigeria Union of Journalists, Plateau Publishing Corporation (NUJ PPC), of government’s commitment to address the corporation’s predicament. Manjang stated this during a courtesy visit by the executive of the union in his office, J.D Gomwalk Secretariat last Thursday.

He commended the leadership of the Corporation for sustaining the production of THE NIGERIAN STANDARD and SUNDAY STANDARD through its hard copy and e-copy.

He added that despite the economic situation of the country, the corporation has broken the even in informing the public.

According to him “the city line express machine of the corporation is among the projects that would be commission.

before the expiration of the government and plans are underway to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the corporation”.

Earlier in a speech by the Union Chairman, he solicits for Government to intervene in the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU), partnership between the corporation and the Plateau Investment Property Company (PIPC).

He stressed that the corporation is lacking the manpower in its day-to-day activities of the organization among others.

Lar pointed out that the union is planning for a press week activity within the year, which would involve veterans in the field of Journalism, friends of the media etc. to be part of the programme and to also sharing their wealth.

He calls on the government to look into their plight and find a lasting solution, in other to bring back the past glory of THE NIGERIA STANDARD.
