The premises of the Governorship election petition tribunal for Sokoto state witnessed pandemonium following the operatives of Department of State Services (DSS) clashed with the supporters of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the state.

Our correspondent reports that the trouble started when the PDP candidate, Mallam Sa’idu Umar, and his running mate in the March 18, governorship election, Sagir Attahiru Bafarawa arrived at the premises of the tribunal to observe the seating.

At that point in time, the SSS operatives wanted to prevent some supporters of PDP from entering the courtroom in the presence of the governorship candidate, when they tried to access the courtroom.

When they duo tried to access the Tribunal Room, A DSS operative shot in the air, which made one of the PDP supporters to accost him, accusing the operative of trying to kill the party’s governorship candidate.
