Zulum receives abducted girls Zulum pix

GOVERNOR Babagana Umara Zulum of Borno State,Monday,received nine abducted girls from Boko Haram terrorists enclave aged between 20 and 25 with one of them heavily pregnant for about 8 months now.

Presenting the escaped girls who were aged between 20 to 25 years old,

The Commissioner for Women Affairs, Hajiya Zuwaira Gambo,who presented the girls to the state Governor said, “the victims ran away from Boko Haram custody at Buni Yadi axis of Yobe state and trekked through the sambisa forest for about six hours before they were rescued by security operatives, three of them were abducted on the 3rd of October 2020, while the other ones were abducted on 5th of May, 2021.” She said.

According to the commissioner, three were abducted at Takulashu village of Chibok namely, Maryam Ishaya with one child, Racheal Simon, Esther Ayuba and Alheri Ezekiel with two children each.

Others are Victoria Andrew and Victoria James,who were abducted from Cofure village in Hong area of Adamawa state also have two children each.

It could be recalled that no April 14, 2014, Boko Haram terrorists stormed Government Girls Secondary School, Chibok and whisked away over 240 female students, since then,only about half of them been released as others escaped and many more still in captivity.

Governor Zulum who was visibly happy with the development, recieved the abducted school girls and their children at his Musa Usman Secretariat office Maiduguri in company of some parents including Chairmen of Chibok Local Government Area and Christian Association of Nigeria,CAN,namely,Alhaji Umar Ibrahim and Bishop Williams Mohammed Naga, respectively alongside traditional rulers and stakeholders alike.

Governor Zulum assured them that,the federal government in collaboration with Borno State Government and security agencies will do all that is necessary to cushion the effects of hardship being experienced especially by farmers and the innocent ones who were abducted and forced to join the dreaded terrorists ideology.
