APC chairmanship candidate inaugurates campaign, advisory committee

AHEAD of the October 6 Local Government and Councillorship elections in Nasarawa State draws nearer, the chairmanship candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Keffi Local Government Area, Alhaji Mohammed Baba Shehu has formally inaugurated his campaign and advisory committees with the task on them to employ all peaceful and persuasive means to canvass for the support of people of the area towards the attainment of victory.

Speaking during the inauguration ceremony that took place at the conference hall of the New Keffi Hotel the chairmanship hopeful  tasked them to deploy their wealth of experience in politics to make sure that all the places that were unreached before they woo-in their support to facilitate the landslide victory of the party during the election.

He then re-assured of his determination to put in place a people based administration that would carry all along in the spirit of justice, equity and fairness, adding that his would-be administration would also be strictly guided by the spirit of transparency and accountability in line with the policy mantra of the APC.

Shehu who is highly elated with the firm support and co-operation from all his co-contestants who aspire for the seat together with him, described their actions as a true demonstration of sportsmanship and therefore re-affirmed his determinations to carry all of them and the people of the area along if his administration comes into being.

On those selected to lead the campaign and advisory committees, the chairmanship condidate stated that upon wider consultations their selection to serve in these capacities was based on their previous anticedents and wealth of experience in grassroot politics as such the task before them is quite onerous bearing in mind that to whom much is given much is equally expected.

Earlier in his welcome speech, the Chairman of the APC in the Nasarawa Western Zone Alhaji Iyal Aliyu Hassan described the large turn-out of party supporters to the occasion as a good sign of victory to the people and therefore tasked the campaign council to use all the available peaceful and persuasive means to mobilize for greater support for the party to enable them win the chairmanship and all the ten councillorship seats.

On their part, he assured that the party would ensure synergy with all the relevant committees and stakeholders with a view to record landslide victory for the party especially that Keffi is the home of APC as such it would ensure that it retain its wining streak and strength through democratic means.

Contributing, the Chief Campaign Co-ordinator of Governor Abdullahi Sule in the area Prince Abdullahi Attajiri expressed optimism that the party would retain its victory bearing in mind the caliber of the party’s flagbearer, his deputy Hon. Vincent Anzaku and all the councillorship candidates of the party.

He then appealed to the people of the area to come out en-masse to elect them during the  October 6 election, assuring that they would strive to live up to the expectations of the people by making sure that they reap the dividends of democracy more.

In their remarks, members of the Nasarawa State House of Assembly representing Keffi West and Keffi East Hon. Baba Aliyu Nana and Hon. Abdulazeez Sulaiman Danladi (Sarkin Samari) expressed satisfaction with their supporters and people in the area as a whole towards the victory of the APC in the area, and tasked them to further demonstrate such attributes by coming out to vote for the chairmanship and councillorship of the party on the election day.

Responding the chairman of the campaign council Alhaji Mohammadu Kabiru Abubakar pledged their determination to carry out their responsibilities with due diligence, high sense of responsibility and fairness with a view to garner the support and win the votes of the people of the area.
