Traditional rulers collaborate for peaceful elections

Traditional rulers in Riyom Local Government area have pledged their support and readiness to collaborate with the Government and Security agencies  to ensure credible and peaceful council elections across all electoral wards in the forthcoming local government elections in October 9,2021.

This was revealed in a press release signed by Mangut Bitrus, information unit Riyom local Government council and was made available to THE NIGERIAN STANDARD recently in Jos, Plateau State.

Ata’a Aten of Ganawuri, Yakubu Chaimang, Da-Gwom Rwei, Riyom, Da Samuel Jok and Gwom Bachi, Da Gyang Dalyop made the assertions while in audience with the Acting Management Committee chairman of the Council, Pam Nyango.

The royal fathers congratulated the acting Chairman over his appointment and urged him to exhibit the qualities that made him to be appointed.

The acting Chairman Nyango,told the traditional rulers that he was in their palaces  to inform them of his appointment and to seek for their blessings and support to enable him succeed in running the affairs of the Council.

He explained that his appointment as acting Management Committee Chairman is for him to prepare a level playing ground for the forth coming local government elections following the resignation of the former Management Committee chairman Mafeng Gwallson who is contesting for the chairmanship position of the local government council
