IN a bid to further consolidate on the gains so far made and to ensure it leaves no stone unturned in providing the best for the people in terms of healthcare, management of the Plateau State Drugs and Medical Commodities Management Agency (DMCMA) has undertaken a visit to the Plateau State office of the Pharmacy Council of Nigeria (PCN) in Jos.

Led by the Executive Secretary (ES), Pharmacist Kim Jerry Bot, the DMCMA team was received on behalf of the PCN Registrar by Dr. Winnie U. Okoye, Assistant Director/State Officer at the Plateau State office, at the Federal Secretariat, Jos.

Bot spoke of the need for a harmonious relationship between the DMCMA and PCN, harping on the need to always be at the top of every situation, as far as delivering safe, affordable and reliable drugs and medical commodities were concerned.

The ES said it was imperative that this collaborative partnership works very well because acts of sabotage could not be ruled out, especially when activities are fully on course.

“We are to do the right thing from day one. We want to start correctly. It is appropriate to come to the regulatory body to register our presence and assure of the need for harmonious relationship which is key,” Bot said.

Pharmacist Dr. Winnie Okoye was delighted with the visit and expressed confidence that the collaborative partnership with the DMCMA would be most beneficial for the citizens of Plateau State as a whole.

She said they were always updating the registrar on activities as captured in their reports in their correspondences and pointed out that they were supposed to work out ways to see the governor and intimate him on their activities.

She described the idea of a collaboration as a win- win situation and a welcome development that would benefit both of them.
