The Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria, FRCN, Headquarters Cooperative Society, has elected new executive members to run the organization for the next two year- terms.
After a keenly contested poll, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka was elected President with 244 votes to beat Mr. Mustapha Ahmed with 209 votes as announced by the chairman of the Electoral Committee, Alhaji Abba Zayyan.
Also elected is the General Secretary of the society, Mr. Bontus Joseph who polled 243 votes to beat Conrad Labeh with 151 votes.
The President of the Abuja Federation of Cooperatives, Mr.Emmanuel Atama, described the election as fair, credible and transparent.
“Honestly, I am happy that the election was credible. The cooperators saw it all. They waited from the beginning to the end for the results – that’s how to go.
” I’m wishing the new executive the best as they pilot the affairs of this cooperative for the next two years. ”
The newly elected President of the Cooperative and Manager Sports and Outside Broadcast of FRCN, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka, expressed appreciation to the cooperators who reposed confidence in him. “I want to sincerely thank you cooperators for believing in me.
I’m not unaware of the role you played towards the success of the election.
This victory is not mine but for you and others who stood firmly with me.
I can’t afford to let you down. It’s a for all of us. I call on all of you, winners and losers to join me and this brand new exco to rebuild and rebrand FRCN COTHRIFT to be the cynosure of all eyes not only in FCT but in Nigeria at large.
Chidoka’s rival, Mustapha Ahmed, described the election as a worthwhile experience and wished the winners the best.
Mr. Michael Olofu was also elected as Financial Secretary with a total score of 172 votes to defeat his closest rival, Abdullahi Obenege who scored124 votes.
The outgoing President ,Mr. Victorson Agbenson, urged the incoming executive to consolidate on his achievements and brace up to the challenges ahead.
Other members of the executive are: the Vice President- Faith Dangana, Public Relations Officer – Lilian Adaeze, Treasurer – Ibrahim Adamu and the Assistant General Secretary – Shaibu John.
FRCN Cooperative Society has over 700 members and a well known cooperative society in the FCT.
