Former Minister of Defence and philanthropist, General TY Danjuma has described the late Taraba PDP chairman, Victor Bala Kona as a diligent person whom he relied on to put in place a new leadership in Taraba State.

Danjuma gave a tribute to the deceased on Saturday during the funeral service of Kona at Our Lady Queen of Peace Cathedral in Jalingo.

“Bala was the pillar and resolute supporter upon whom I relied when I decided to put in place a new leadership in Taraba State. I was successful due largely to Bala’s diligence and perseverance,” Danjuma stated in a written tribute to the Late PDP chairman.

The Taraba State Governor, Agbu Kefas, paid glowing tributes to the late PDP chairman, describing him as a strong supporter of democracy.

“His passing leaves a void that will be felt not only in our political space but for those who know him. As the chairman of PDP, he played a pivotal role in sustaining the PDP in Taraba. We have lost a leader who is motivated by a deep sense of service. Let’s remember him for the strength of his character,” Kefas stated.

A goodwill message was also delivered by the acting National Chairman of PDP, Ambassador Iliya Umar. According to him, Kona lived a life of service. “He had a sense of humility. We have lost a great man,” he stated.
