I’ll prioritise effective healthcare service

Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State, has reassured the people of the state of his administration’s determination to prioritise effective health care delivery services with focus on children and women.

The governor disclosed this when the Country Secretariat Director of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria (CHAN), Micheal Idah and some developing partners from the World Vision and Global Alliance for Vaccine Immunisation paid him a courtesy visit at the Government House,Jos recently.

Barrister Mutfwang who was highly elated with the partners for their commitment towards ensuring that the health needs of the people of the state, particularly that of the children, received adequate attention, noted , ” It is gratifying to know that people can put themselves together, gather resources and show empathy towards children in the developing world . This is quite gratifying and i want to appreciate you all for all that you have done.¨

He further encouraged them to continue to do their best in saving lives. He pointed out that their commitment would never go in vain or unnoticed. ” I am sure many lives will be saved because of the commitment to ensure zero dose is administered to children . We never know what they will become in the future. I am sure saving their lives and strengthening their bodies will be instrumental to what they will become in the future and I am sure that what you are doing,God will reward you abundantly ” .

The Country Secretariat Director of the Christian Health Association of Nigeria ( CHAN), Micheal Idah, who spoke earlier thanked the Governor for the warm reception accorded them and said CHAN was determined to improve the health care delivery services for children in Plateau State.

According to him , the organisation was working round the clock in Shendam, Quaan Pan, Kanam, and Wase Local Government Areas of the state,out of the 100 local government areas in the country that have been selected for the zero dose project.

Mr Idah explained that in recent times,they were chosen to bring support through the African Christian Association Platform in order to implement the immunisation project to achieve the zero dose in children, adding that it’s aim was to ensure children that are in out- of – reach areas as well as those in fragile and conflict settings have access to immunisation.

The Country Secretariat Director also assured of increase of collaboration with the government and other partners to get other services revealing that the started the project in 2022 and said Plateau was one of the states where they have implemented the project. He added that they were working in four local government areas that have been prioritised among 100 local government areas in the country as a zero dose local governments.
