Keffi LG to ensure covid-19 compliance

Keffi Local Government Council of Nasarawa State is working hard to ensure compliance from the people of the area on the measures imposed by the state government with a view to avoiding or curtail the spread of the dreaded Corona virus otherwise known as COVID 19.

The Executive Chairman of the council Alhaji. Abdulrahman Sani Maigoro gave the assurance while briefing newsmen about the efforts being made by his council to ensure that the people of the area comply with the state government directive with a view to staying healthy by keeping themselves away from the disease.

According to him, already announcements to that effect has been made in the various media outfits and law enforcement agents (security) were directed to ensure total compliance by closing of various market places, worship centres social gathering places among others with a view to avoid or reduce social contacts that would lead to the spread of the disease.

He however assured that the law enforcement agents were instructed to be more civil and cautious in their approach to the people adding that there should be no harassment or molestation of the people.

Maigoro further assured that those exempted from the restrictions like food vendors, media, and hospital, pharmaceutical services would be allowed to go about their normal duties without any hindrance.

The chairman who stressed the need for the people of the area to ensure strict compliance to the partial lockdown order, he stated that it was meant to safeguard their health by keeping them away from contacting the dreaded corona virus that is now ravaging the whole world.

On the issue of palliative measures taken to assist especially the vulnerable and less privileged members of the society, the chairman assured that Governor AbdullahiSule of the state has promised to be providing one truck load of food every week for distribution to them with a view to cushion the effect of what would happen to them due to the curtailing of their movements.

Commenting about the mode of the distribution of the food supplies to the area by the state government, Maigoro them explained that it would be only be given to the less privileged or most vulnerable members of the society, stressing that it would not be given to either civil or public servants and other well to do members of the society.

While expressing his satisfaction with the level of compliance by the people in the area, he charged them to continue to be law abiding and observe strict rules of hygiene like hand washing, social distancing among others with a view to protect themselves from the dreaded corona virus that is view ravaging not only Nigeria but the whole world.

He then used the occasion to commend the Nasarawa State’s Government for the appropriate measures taken to protect the people of the state as well as the palliative measures provided to support the people who are in dire need of assistance.

Our man who went round Keffi town saw that the most of the people have complied with the restriction order a most business places have closed their shops except those permitted to be open due to the essential nature of their work or services.

Nigeria Farmers Group losses two staff

Two staff of Nigeria Farmers Group and Cooperative Society of Ga’ate farm center in kokona Local Government Area of Nasarawa State have lost their lives and 15 others sustained serious degree of injuries as a result of rainstorm that also destroyed properties worth millions of naira belonging to the farm.

The diseased persons were identified as Naomi Audu and Rabiu Yaro Sodangi attached with the rice processing unit of the farm

Briefing newsmen in his office during the week, the Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of the multi million naira farm Mr. RedsonTedhekhe stated that the two affected staff met their untimely death when the powerful windstorm pulled down the building were inside while they were trying to evacuate some of the farm products that is inside the rice building.

Mr Redson who expressed his sadness over the unfortunate incident stated that the 15 injured staff were rushed to toMumbasa Medical Center, Keffiwere doctors were trying to stabilize them and expressed the hope that they would be recovered.

He however assured that in recognition of the dedication and commitments demonstrated by the two late staff of the farm, their salaries would run for one year while those injured would be treated by the farm and their salaries would continue to run to until they return to their duty post as part of their insurance scheme.

Speaking about the safety measures being taken by the farm to mitigate future reoccurrence of the unfortunate incident, the Managing Director of the farm stated that they are going to plant fast growing economic trees as well as train and re-train their staffs on safety measures to be taken both in the farm and even in their homes.

He then prayed for the quick recovery of their injured staff and assured them of their continued prayers and support, nothing that the support of their host community event in this moment of grief is quite encouraging.

Mr. Redson then appealed to other staff of the farm to continue to be dedicated in their duties of feeding the nation, assuring that their labour and commitments would never be in vain.

Meanwhile, the Abaga of Toni Chiefdom HRH Lawrence Sylvester Ayih Oho 11, the KokonaLocal Government Council Chairman Hon SaiduKurki, the council’s secretary Hon. Augustine Ogaba amongst other prominent personalities have went to the farm to condoled with them over the unfortunate incident which they described as catastrophe and very  unfortunate.

Hon. Kurki however promised to inform the government of Nasarawa State about the situation and see how the can come to the aid of the farm and other communities affected in the same aspect

Covid-19: Kokona chair hails people

THE Executive Chairman of Kokona Local Government Council of Nasarawa State, Hon. SaiduKaziKurki has expressed satisfaction with the level of compliance by the people of the area as regards steps taken by the state government to curtail the spread of the deadly Corona virus.

Speaking with newsmen in his office recently after visiting various places to ascertain the level of compliance the chairman stated that his people have given needed support and cooperation based on the directives of the state government.

He stated that already, the state government has ordered the closure of various markets, crowded places, worship centers, social gathering and clubs among others as part of efforts to check mate the spread of the deadly virus in the state.

Hon. Kurki who prayed for the non-emergence of the disease in the area and the state as well as recovery for those affected, however advised the people to always adopt to safety hygiene measures like handwashing and general environmental cleanliness  with a view to stay safety and healthy.

According to him, the committee inaugurated was also mandated to educate, and enlighten the people about the dangers of Coronavirus that is now ravaging the whole world on the need to adopt precautionary measures so as to be protected.

While expressing his gratitude to the state government under the leadership of Engineer AbdullahiAlhajiSule for its efforts in providing palliatives to the people especially for the most vulnerable members of the society,he assured that justice and fairness would be strictly applied in the distribution of the relief food supply.

Hon. Kurki then commended the people of the area for their compliance and law abiding attributes, saying that such is highly desirable in the ongoing fight against the deadly Coronavirus.
