Mutfwang appreciates GOSA’s contributions

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang has acknowledged and appreciated the unquantifiable contributions of the Gindiri Old Students Association (GOSA), towards the development of Plateau and Nigeria at large.

Disclosing this during the 37th Reunion Service held at the Church Auditorium of COCIN Gindiri Schools Chaplaincy, Mangu Local Government Area, the Governor explained that many members of the association had contributed and are still offering credible and selfless services in different spheres of human endeavours across nations of the world.

Gov. Mutfwang, who is a member of the old students, cited their Alma mater’s legacy of nurturing competent leaders which he noted including the late Joseph Gomwalk, the first Governor of Benue – Plateau State whom significantly contributed to peaceful co-existence and development of Plateau and Nigeria as a whole.

He extended his appreciation to God for the relative peace that has prevailed in the state and emphasised the collective responsibility of all citizens in upholding the security of lives and property, especially in Mangu Local Government Area which had recently faced challenges relating to insecurity.

The governor therefore reiterated his administration’s determination and commitment towards establishing a robust security framework to ensure the safety of students, as well as the community as a whole.

While speaking about the current political landscape and legal challenges, Governor Mutfwang expressed his unwavering faith, stating that as long as God remains enthroned, light would prevail over darkness and assured that victory was certain despite the obstacles being faced.

The Church Of Christ In Nations (COCIN)vPresident, Reverend.Dr. Amos Mohzo commended Gov. Mutfwang for his prompt action in addressing the state’s security challenges and further praised him for the courage put in place which led to the attraction of federal government presence in the state.

Reflecting on COCIN’s history since its establishment in 1904 , Rev. Dr Mohzo highlighted the faithfulness of God towards the Church, emphasising the positive impact of the schools in raising leaders who have made significant contributions to humanity.

On his part, the General Secretary of COCIN, Associate Prof. Benjamin Pokol, urged the former students to uphold integrity and truth in public service, emphasising the importance of being agent of social transformation.

The event witnessed an array of dignitaries from all walks of life.
