Ogazi ready to partner Peace Corps

MEMBER representing Kokona East  Constituency in the Nasarawa State House of Assembly Hon. Daniel Ogazi, has expressed his readiness to partner Peace Corps of Nigeria to promote peace and tackle youths restiveness in the state.

Ogazi, who is the Chairman, House Committee on Education, made this known while receiving the “Youth Icon” award from the Peace Corps of Nigeria, Nasarawa State Command in Lafia.

He expressed satisfaction with what the command had done a lot in ensuring security and taking the youths off the street, hence the need for effective collaboration to enable it do more.

“Infact I feel highly honoured and happy that you recognised me for the award. I thank you and the Organisation as this award will encourage me to do more I am quite sure that the award will strengthen my support for the youths and we will continue to collaborate in order to tackle youth restiveness, take the unemployed youths off the street in the interest of development,” he said.

The lawmaker also assured of his advocacy for the corps to be recognised constitutionally considering its role in human and societal development.

Earlier, State Commandant of the Corps, Chief Bala Joshua, stated that they decided to honour the lawmaker due to his concern for the plight of the youths.

“You are one of the members who have concern and stand for the youths. And for your contributions to the development of the youths and the state at large, we have awarded you as”Youth Icon 2021″, he said.

Joshua also commended the lawmaker’s commitment in taking the education sector in which he is chairing to greater heights in the state.

The commandant assured of the corps’ readiness to partner with other security agencies and individuals in ensuring peace in the state.

THE NIGERIA STANDARD reports that the corps also presented a Certificate of Recognition to the lawmaker for his contributions to youths and other development especially his support for Governor. Abdullahi Sule’s policy on education.
