PLASU VC hosts accreditation panel

Vice Chancellor of the Plateau State University Bokkos, Prof. Bernard Malau Matur, has reaffirmed the university’s unwavering commitment to partner with the National Universities Commission (NUC) in its mission to advance tertiary education across Nigeria.

This was contained in a press statement signed by the university’s Public Relations Officer (PRO), John K. Agam, and made available to THE NIGERIA STANDARD in Jos, the State capital Monday, shortly after the VC played host to a three-man accreditation panel under the leadership of Professor O.B.C Nwankwo of Anambra State University.

According to Professor Matur, the National Universities Commission (NUC) through the Visitation Panels has continued to play a pivotal role in enhancing the quality of education in Nigeria.

He assured the Accreditation Panel of the University’s full cooperation by throwing open its records section, the academic division, the financial department, the works and physical facilities, and any other areas where information may be required.

Matur said, “the university is at the service of the regulating body as it understands the significance of the visit which is to peer review and offer meaningful advice to uplift the University”

The leader of the NUC accreditation team, Prof. Obosco Bankole Nwakwo, clarified the primary purpose of the accreditation visit which is that of ensuring quality control,emphasizing that it was to focus on upholding the educational standards set by the NUC since it was established in 2015.
