Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya, was on Sunday given a hero’s welcome by party enthusiasts and well-wishers, as he returned back to the state after his Supreme Court victory declaration.

Since the declaration of his victory at the Supreme Court in Abuja, the governor had been taking care of official engagements in different parts of the country until last Sunday, when he returned to Gombe by road through Yobe State.

The over-joyed party enthusiasts and supporters lined the routes at Nafada, Funakaye, Kwami and Gombe LGAs, eager to express their joy and solidarity with the governor, following his legal victory at the Supreme Court.

The governor, who was practically avoiding any big reception, it was learnt, found it challenging to contain the overwhelming response of the people who couldn’t hide their happiness over the Supreme Court’s verdict which ended all litigation to his election.

He returned to the state from Maiduguri, Borno State, where he chaired the annual Sir Ahmadu Bello Memorial Lecture in his position as Chairman of the Northern States Governors’ Forum.

It was also learnt that he chose to return by road, but his journey back to Gombe turned into a celebration of sorts as supporters, led by officials, party chieftains, and in some places, traditional rulers, enthusiastically welcomed him along the route while passing through their respective local government areas.

In Gombe, the Deputy Governor, Dr. Manassah Daniel Jatau, led other top government functionaries to receive Governor Inuwa Yahaya at his residence and to convey heartfelt congratulations to him and the APC on the triumph at the Supreme Court.

At all the places stopped, special prayers were offered for Allah’s continued guidance for the governor and his administration.
