A chieftain of New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP), Ambassador Olufemi Ajadi Oguntoyinbo has described the purported suspension of the 2023 Presidential candidate of the party, Senator Rabiu Kwankwaso by some people within the party as null and void.

Oguntoyinbo, who spoke recently said that those who carried out the purported suspension had earlier been expelled by the party’s National Executive Committee.

He described the alleged suspension as illegal, null and void.

Recall that some people within the party had on Tuesday announced that Kwankwaso, a former governor of Kano State and some other members had been suspended by the party.

Oguntoyinbo in his reaction, explained that the party at its National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting held in Abuja recently, had accused the BoT Chairman, Dr Boniface Aniebonam and the National Publicity Secretary, Agbo Major and others of anti-party activities.

He added that the duo had been expelled from the party and had no moral justification to suspend anyone in the party.

He maintained that Kwankwaso remains a formidable leader of the party.

Oguntoyinbo, who was the gubernatorial candidate of NNPP in the March 2023 election in Ogun State said any purported suspension of Kwankwaso is null and void.

He added that Aniebonam particularly, was accused of creating a parallel group within the party with a view to causing disaffection in the NNPP.

Oguntoyinbo, in the statement made available to journalists recently said, “It is a huge joke. According to him, Kwankwaso remains a formidable leader of the party. Any purported suspension of Kwankwaso is null and void.

“Following the National Working Committee (NWC) dissolution of seven state executive committees as well as suspension of the founder and Chairman of Board of Trustees, Dr. Boniface Aniebonam and the National Publicity Secretary, Dr. Agbo Major, the NEC ratified their expulsion from the party.

“Therefore the meeting which had in attendance the Governor of Kano State, Engr. Abba Kabir Yusuf, and the Speaker of the Kano State House of Assembly, Alhaji Jibrin Falgore in attendance at Bolingo Hotel, Abuja expelled Boniface, Major and their cohorts from the NNPP”
