Tinubu signs supplementary budget

President Bola Tinubu has signed the N2.176 trillion Supplementary Appropriation Act 2023 to strengthen the nation’s security architecture and other critical infrastructure deficit among other considerations.

The signing which took place at the Presidential Villa, Abuja was witnessed by Senate President Godswill Akpiabo, Speaker House of Representatives, Hon. Tajudeen Abbas, Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume among others.

Minister of Budget and Economic Planning, Abubakar Bagudu while breaking down the budget to newsmen in Abuja said the newly approved expenditure for defense and security consist of about thirty percent, while the thirty five percent was dedicated to the provisions of critical infrastructure to be allocated to Federal Ministry of Works, Federal Capital Territory and Housing and Urban Development.

The president commended the National Assembly for its expedition consideration and approval of the budget.
