Plateau State Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo has commended management and staff of Saint Louis College, Jos for inculcating discipline and sound moral values in students of the college.
Piyo gave the commendation when she received on a courtesy call, proprietor and management of the college at Government House, Rayfield, Jos, recently.
The Deputy Governor who is an alumnus of the college noted that she was proud to be a product of the school.
She explained that God nurtured her from a humble background through his divine grace to where she is today.
The Deputy Governor encouraged some of the students on the entourage to be committed to their studies and God will exalt them in their endeavours.
Education Secretary, Catholic Arch Diocese of Jos, Rose Agur who led the delegation said they were at the Deputy Governor’s office to rejoice and pray with her to succeed as the number two citizen in the state.
Agur stated that the journey was not an easy one, but prayed that God will uphold her in the new assignment.
She also prayed for more strength, understanding, good health, empathy and wisdom for the deputy governor and her principal, the governor to succeed.
The visit climaxed with the presentation of sacramentals to the deputy governor to draw inspiration and strength from them, when the journey gets tough.
Meantime, Plateau State Deputy Governor, Josephine Piyo has assured Boys Brigade Nigeria of her support to train and bring up godly children in the society.
Piyo gave the assurance when she received on a courtesy visit, officials of the Boys Brigade, Jos North Battalion Council in her office at Government House, Rayfield, Jos, recently.
The deputy governor who doubles as patron of both Jos North and Riyom Battalion Councils of the organization, noted that it gives her great joy when she sees the younger ones being nurtured in the way of the Lord.
She expressed happiness with the way the Boys Brigade conducts its activities, pointing out that as a mother, she is concerned about the growth and spiritual wellbeing of children.
Piyo commended the Boys Brigade Nigeria for supporting and encouraging her even in dark moments.
Chairman of Boys Brigade, Jos North Battalion Council, Lengzaka Mershak said they were in her office to congratulate her as their spiritual mother.
He prayed for God’s strength upon her to enable her and the governor to meet the yearnings and aspirations of Plateau people.
