Governor Muhammadu Inuwa Yahaya of Gombe State has charged 302 newly promoted officers of the state’s Command of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC) to justify their promotion by being more committed and diligent for the success of the service.

Represented by his Depuy, Manasseh Daniel Jatau, at the decoration ceremony, held at the Gombe International Hotel, the governor said their promotion was a reward for their diligence, hardwork and productivity.

While congratulating the officers over the feat, he commended the contributions of the NSCDC and applauded the management for taking the right dimension of rewarding excellence.

According to him, “Reports, statistics, media reports and comments of members of the general public have all pointed out that over the years, the organisation has been very effective in the performance of its duties.

“This is highly commendable and we in Gombe say, weldone and assure you of the support, cooperation and partnership to ensure that the goals for which you were established are realised”.

He appreciated the Minister of Interior, Dr. Olubunmi Tunji Ojo and the Commandant General of the NCSDC, Ahmed Abubakar Audi, and his management for approving the promotion and decoration of the officers and men of Gombe State Command.

While charging them to live up to their new ranks, Jatau said “Accordingly, your promotion has been a compelling need to be in line with your knowledge of the job. Do not allow a situation where there is a great gap between your shoulders and your heads”.

In his remarks, the Assistant Commandant General in charge of Zone “C”, NSCDC, Umar Musa Bala, informed the gathering that the decoration ceremony was remarkable as it symbolises the dedication and commitment of the newly promoted officers which is demonstrated by their service to the nation.

He said, “These officers have consistently demonstrated their commitment to upholding the values of the NSCDC and ensuring the safety and security of our communities. Their willingness to go above and beyond the call of duty is a testament to their strong character and sense of productivity,” Umar Musa Bala noted.

In his welcome address, the Gombe State Commandant, NSCDC, Muhammadu Bello Muazu, explained that the service is being reorganised by the government because of its impact in the country.
