Governor Mutfwang to partner HYPPADEC to improve lives

The Executive Governor of Plateau State, Barrister Caleb Mutfwang has pledged to collaborate with the management of the National Hydroelectric Power Producing Areas Development Commission (N- HYPPADEC), towards improving the lives and living conditions of people living in the power -generating communities in the state.

He also called on the Commission to be fair and just in its recruitment exercises to accord all the states in their jurisdiction equal opportunities so that they have a sense of belonging.

Governor Mutfwang made these remarks when the Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa and his management team paid him a courtesy visit at the New Government House, Little Rayfield, Jos on recently. He also appealed to the Commission to be committed to improving the lives of the people resident in the power – generating communities.

While calling on the commission to be fair in their recruitment exercises, the Governor urged them to ensure every state benefited from that and commended them for the numerous projects so far executed in the power -generating communities but enjoined them to do more.

He promised to partner their commission towards improving the well being of the people in those areas. And further urged them to look into the construction of dams in order to promote agricultural activities in the state.

According to him, with the security challenges currently facing the state , the government was planning to promote all – round – season farming which he said would ensure food security adding that the state government plans to construct dams that would provide water for irrigation farming.

The Managing Director of N-HYPPADEC, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Yelwa, earlier in his speech commiserated with the government and people of the state over the security challenges facing the state.

Alh. Yelwa said, they would ensure the befitting communities benefits a lot and thanked the Governor for granting them audience.

The Managing Director expressed confidence in the Governor’s capacity and capability in tackling security issues that had bedevilled some parts of the state and solicited the support of the state government in addressing the challenges of power generation in the state.
