Taraba State Governor, Darius Ishaku, had recently commissioned.

the first phase of 250 completed units of 2 bedrooms semi-detached bungalows and 3 bedrooms fully detached bungalows, known as DDI Estate Garden in Jalingo.

He also flagged off the second phase of the multi-million-naira 5000 housing project, through a public private partnership.

According to the governor, the ultra-modern DDI Garden Estate, was one of “several signature landmark projects completed by his government”.

“This project was conceived as a deliberate government policy to reduce the housing deficit by providing decent, comfortable, and affordable housing for civil servants through a highly flexible payment regime that allows the occupant to take full ownership of the houses before retirement,” Ishaku stated.

The housing estate has the following facilities: Parks, a shopping centre, a clinic, recreation centre, a garden, military, police, and civil defence outposts, CCTV, burglary alarm systems, solar street lighting, and constant water and electricity supplies.

Ishaku also urged the newly recruited 1445 civil servants to seize the opportunity and own the housing units, saying government has facilitated the process for them to own the houses.

“I urge the young and upcoming civil servants recently recruited by my administration to seize this once-in-a-lifetime opportunity to purchase any of the available brands of houses of their choice using the flexible payment plan of a mortgage payment, instant payment, or staggered/instalments payment.

“As an added incentive to the newly recruited employees, I have purchased 55 bungalows, and a raffle draw will be held with the chosen winners receiving the houses to be repaid on a mortgage loan,” he stated.
