Kogi plans recruitment of additional 2,000 teachers

In its bid to boost quality education at secondary school level, the Kogi State Government says it has concluded plans to recruit additional two thousand teachers soon.
State Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Wemi Jones disclosed this in an interview with our correspondent.
Wemi Jones said that Governor Yahaya Bello has given an approval to that effect as part of the present administration’s desire to bequeath a legacy in education sub-sector.
According to him, more mathematics teachers will be recruited in the quest to boost science education as well as other fields of learning.
On 1,000 teachers who were recently employed, the Commissioner said documentation is ongoing before final posting to their respective schools across the state.
He restated the commitment of the state government to adequately fund and equip secondary schools with learning and instructional materials as well as make them conducive enough for staff to perform their duties optimally.
On the just concluded elections, Hon Wemi Jones commended all relevant stakeholders especially the ruling party, the All Progressives Party, APC, for playing by the rules of the game which gave it landmark victories across board in a peaceful atmosphere.
He congratulated all the winners, especially the Kabba/ Bunu House of Assembly elect, Hon. Bello Oluwaseyi Victor for his emergence and prayed God to uphold him for a fruitful service to the people.
