Plateau Governor, Simon Bako Lalong has promised to continue supporting his alma-mater, the  Shendam Old Students Association (SOSA) to make it stand out.

He gave the assurance recently at Government House Jos during a courtesy visit by SOSA executives.

Speaking at the forum, President of SOSA, Bala Gukat said they are happy to identify with the governor, who is not only their member but Legal Adviser, after successfully leading the state for the past 8 years and played a key role towards the development of the school, Government Secondary School (GSS), Shendam.

“We are proud of you because of your achievements in the state while you led as governor for the past 8 years”, he said assuring that as schoolmates, they will continue to support him in his political career and attainments.

Gukat prayed the governor to rise to higher heights, and secure bigger appointments that will enable him to serve the country as a whole, after he leaves office in May 29.

Lalong appreciated his alma-mater for the visit and for coming to pray for the progress of the state.

He recalled that he was glad to be a part of the elections that ushered in the new executives in 2022, which also availed him the opportunity to visit his former secondary school, interact with the students by sitting on his former bed, and dining and wining with the students.

He assured that his heart is in the secondary school which has made him who he is today, promising further that he will continue to support the school and the executives of the alma-mater in all their endeavours to make them continue to stand out among their peers in the state and country at large.
