Mutfwang signs electricity law

Plateau State Governor, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang , yesterday signed the State Electricity Bill into law.

Signing the bill into law at the New Government House, Little Rayfield before the Speaker, Plateau State House of Assembly, Rt.Hon Gabriel Dewan and members, the state Chief Judge, Justice David Mann, the State Executive Council members ,experts in the electricity sector, the governor said the event was a milestone towards achieving the dream that had eluded the state for a long period.

According to him, no one can underscore the importance of electricity. He pointed out that apart from water, electricity signing was so dear to him. Adding that “Electricity is part of human lives ” .

Governor Mutfwang who spoke passionately about the importance of electricity, noted that electricity accelerates modern developments.

” As for me, this is the beginning of a journey to greatness. I therefore, invite investors to come to Plateau State, so that we move together ” he stressed.

According to Mutfwang, with the support and collaboration of all, the sky would be the limit in achieving the desired results. The governor thanked the legislature for assent.

Giving synopsis before the signing of the bill into law, the State Attorney General and Commissioner of Justice, Barrister Philemon Dafi, explained that electricity was capital intensive and as well, a key towards development of any clime.

According to Barr.Dafi, the state, after signing of law, would allow for a competitive market that even local government councils could establish their electricity firms.
