Moved by the plight of internally displaced persons (IDPs) in Mangu Local Government Area, a Lagos-based non-governmental organisation, the Christopher Nnadozie Foundation has donated clothing and cash to the Mwaghavul Development Association (MDA) to be distributed to the affected people.

It will be recalled that scores of people were killed and their houses, farms, and properties destroyed by Fulani militia in the LGA in recent times.

Presenting the items at the Bungha, Mangu IDPs camp recently , chairman of the NGO, Christopher Nnadozie, who was represented by the vice chairman, Omeh Onoja said that his organisation’s main focus is poverty alleviation and improving the quality of life of the people.

He sympathised with the Mwaghavul people over the calamity that had befallen them and called on the government to do more in order to protect its citizens.

Receiving the items, the secretary of MDA, Dr Solomon Mangvwat, thanked the NGO for their kind gesture, assuring that the donated items would be equitably distributed among the 17 IDPs camps in the LGA.
