Plateau SEC, appointees converge for retreat

Plateau State Executive Council and appointees recently converged at the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), Kuru for a five day retreat.
The Executive Governor of the state, Barrister Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang charged them to explore all avenues and bring their wealth of experience to bear in order to leave a positive legacy for the betterment of the state.

According to him, they should see themselves as a united unit rather than competitors and stressed the importance of bonding, shared objectives and working together. Mutfwang said that by doing that, they would leave a remarkable landmark in the state.

The governor said that the aim of the workshop was to address the high expectations of the people of the state and to ensure effective and good governance in the state.

The retreat aptly tagged “On- boarding the Appointees” , due to the importance of the different offices, presented another opportunity for the Executive Governor to thank the people of the state for the trust bestowed on them and to also congratulate the appointed officials. He urged them to use their good offices for the betterment of the people.

Mutfwang also highlighted the significance of their roles in shaping the future of the state, especially seeing the overwhelming jubilation that greeted the announcement of the election results as well as the historic inauguration of May 29th, 2023.

According to him, the future of lives of the people of the state depended on the outcome of the appointees’ collective work. The governor cautioned them not to squander opportunities, but to view their appointments as a stepping stone to higher achievement.

” Our duty at this critical time presents an opportunity to make history and leave a positive legacy for the betterment of Plateau State. The workshop and retreat, we begin today are not just symbolic events, but an opportunity to bring glory to God and benefit the people of Plateau State”, Governor Mutfwang declared.

He further urged the participants to focus on implementing government programmes and policies that would positively impact on the state development. Mutfwang explained that it is only through collaboration and dedication that the officials would be able to leave a lasting mark in the state and to fulfill the trust bestowed upon them by the the people.

Earlier, the Director – General of the National Institute for Policy and Strategic Studies (NIPSS), welcomed the participants and urged them to support the dreams of the governor which he said was aimed at bringing developmental strides to the state.

Represented by Brig – General Chukwuemeka Udaya (Rtd), he revealed that NIPSS was a conducive learning, training and meditation environment which they should take advantage of to support their research and growth in the field of their focus.

The Retreat which ended on Friday had seasoned clerics like the Chaplain of NIPSS, Rev. David Pofi, Rev. Prof. Para Malam, and Gbille Akanni presenting papers on how to move the state to an enviable heights using the Bible as a panacea.
