Governor Caleb Mutfwang of Plateau State has charged Church leaders to set aside their ego and work assiduously to advance the work of Christ on earth.

He also advised them never to allow external influence to bring division in the church, instead to stand firm in propagating God’s message to the world.

The Executive Governor handed this advice during the 104th General Church Council (GCC), held at the Church Of Christ In Nations (COCIN), Headquarters Church,Jos recently.

Gov. Mutfwang thanked God that the Church has continued to thrive at these perilous times and urged them to set aside their differences and bring the body of Christ together.

According to him, ” l had deliberately stayed away from politics, believing it was dirty. I came into politics as my own mission field and I have chosen to work in the light and truth ”

The Governor promised to work with all Church groups for the advancement of Agriculture, saying that the state was blessed with enormous agricultural resources which needed to be maximised.

The Church President, Rev . Dr. Amos Mohzo, said the church suffered setbacks, saying PCCs, Panyam and Gindiri were the worst hit where people were killed, maimed and or forced to flee, displaced from their homes by Fulani terrorists.

According to him, COCIN as a body, contributed over 500 bags of maize and other assorted grains, clothes as well as about ₦50,000,000.00 to relieve the agony of the people.

On Karl Kumm University, Vom, Rev. Dr. Mohzo officially announced that 28th November, 2023 has been earmarked as the maiden matriculation which would mark the commencement of the 2023/2024 academic session.

The President frowned at those bent on tarnishing the image of the Church in the social media which he said included their members and workers.

Rev. Dr. Mohzo therefore urged them to desist or face the wrath of the mighty God. He called on pastors to uphold the sanctity and holiness of the pulpit as a sacred space dedicated to proclaiming the pure gospel of Christ for the redemption of souls.
