Mutfwang surprises NYSC camp with a visit

Governor Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang of Plateau State has paid a surprise visit at the temporary site of the National Youth Service Corps orientation camp recently which is at WAYE, Dwei, Jos South Local Government of the state.

Excitement was heightened among the staff and corpers as the August visitor was received.

The governor put smiles on the faces of the corpers and staff of NYSC by giving them some tokens.

The corps members who were visibly elated as well as the State Director of NYSC, Mrs Esther Tosin Ikupoleti by the Governor ‘s visit entertained him with different performances from their cultural troupe.

Governor Mutfwang in his speech pledged to protect and support all corps members who had come to serve in Plateau State.

According to him,they were fortunate to have been posted to Plateau for their mandatory one year service, describing the state as a land of great fortune.

He noted that some of them were crossing the Niger for the first time and promised to lay a solid foundation for the satisfaction of all. Mutfwang stressed that they were seeing the opposite of how Plateau was being portrayed negatively.

” You are by the grace of God going back to your permanent site next time,” Mutfwang assured the NYSC staff. “We will ensure everything is put in place for your comfort and security. You should all feel at home as Plateau is a home to all “, Mutfwang stressed.

The State Director of the NYSC, Mrs Ikupoleti, who poured accolades on the governor, said he was the first governor to visit corps members in 10 years and assured of him of their loyalty in the state.

She condoled with the governor over the unfortunate incident that bedeviled the state and intimated him that the 2023 Batch B, stream two, were the best and said they were fortunate to be in the best state in Nigeria with the best weather.

The State Director however regretted that out of the 2000 Youth Corps Members , 1000 of them applied to be relocated to other states.

Mrs Esther Ikupoleti appealed to the governor that before they go back to the permanent site in Mangu, Staff quarters should be built, pointing out that they lacked decent accomodation.
