Arrangements have been concluded by the Plateau State government to build an international market in Mangu Local Government Area of the state. Commissioner, Ministry of Lands, Survey and Town Planning, Barr. Peter Nyam Gai, disclosed this recently while addressing participants at a three day retreat held at Exel Tourism Hotel, Abuja.

According to the Commissioner, “We were in Mangu last week to see the site. By God’s grace, next week we will commence the survey of the entire area. He added also that a ” major investor is also coming to Plateau State just as the state will soon have a film city. ”
The commissioner further disclosed that since the coming of this administration under Barr. Caleb Manasseh Mutfwang, a lot of organisations and individuals have applied to the ministry to have land to build a higher institution or the other.

Gai said on assumption of office, precisely August last year, he met a ministry with staff moral very low, dilapidated office structure with no meeting room and almost everything in shambles. But today, the story has changed.

“Today I make bold step to say that the ministry has made significant progress in the midst of challenges “, the commissioner stated. He pointed out that today the ministry under him has created and renovated a boardroom where people can comfortably sit and have meetings. “We have also created a sick bay with drugs provided for staff free of charge. We are the only ministry with that.

“I am happy to tell you that we have signed at least 1000 Certificates of Occupancy and we have also reduced the period of getting your title from 10 to 3 months, as part of our achievements ,” Mr Gai disclosed.

The participants were informed that the retreat, ” is a deliberate attempt to prepare the staff for the present and up coming challenges”.
