The leadership of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN) FCT Chapter has congratulated Alhaji Mohammed Adam Mouktar and Barrister Paul Edeh, on their re-election and emergence as Chairman of the Federal Capital Territory Football Association (FA) and Benue State FA Chairman respectively.

The unopposed victory of Mouktar came as a result of his track record and wealth of experience in football as well as his style of administration which play a significant role in swaying voters in his favour.

Also, the overwhelming electoral victory of Paul Edeh followed his philanthropic gesture, revolutionary exploits as well as his full involvement in sports developments at various categories.

In a congratulatory message conveyed via a press statement on Sunday June 18, 2023 in Abuja, FCT SWAN Chairman, Mr. Ndubueze Chidoka said both Mouktar and Edeh deserved the victory, in view of their numerous football innovations as well as grassroots sports development.

“I have known Mouktar as a man of good track records at any position or responsibility he is faced with. I’m not surprised with the victory.

“I believe this will continue to spur him to do more in the future as one who is endowed with sound leadership skills.

“We strongly also believe in the qualities and abilities of Edeh and are confident that Benue State FA will never regret having him as their chairman because he has what it takes to lead them to the next level with regards to football growth and development in the state.

“We implore both Mouktar and Edeh, who double as the President of Ratels Sports Development Foundation (RSDF) to keep up their good works and ensure they make sports gain greater momentum,” the SWAN, FCT Chapter’s boss said.

Mouktar polled 12 out of 12 cast to emerge unopposed at the elections held at Bwari Area Council, while the first Vice Chairman, Hon. Saliu Kolo lost his re-election bid with 5 Yes and 7 Nays, after initially heading to the ballots unopposed.

Edeh on the other hand, won his election following a landslide victory of 28 votes out 29 to defeat his challenger, Coach Godwin Uwa, a former Super Eagles Assistant Coach who got only one vote in the elections held in Makurdi, Benue State.
