National Youth Games: 150 to represent Taraba

150 youths are to represent Taraba State at the upcoming National Youths Games in Ilorin, Kwara State.

The Taraba State Director of Sports, George Shitta disclosed this in Jalingo during a chat with members of the Sports Writers Association of Nigeria (SWAN).

Shitta explained that 50 officials would accompany the contingent to the 6th Edition of the festival.

He revealed that the contingent will be participating in football, volleyball, badminton, weight lifting, beach football, golf, judo, wrestling and table tennis.

Shitta expressed his optimism that the contingent will win medals for the state.

He described sports as a source of livelihood, calling on corporate organizations and individuals to support sports development.

On the preparedness of the contingent the Director said concerted efforts was ongoing for its success and lauded Gov. Ishaku for his support to sports development in the state.

Shitta hinted that he has recently been elected Technical Referee in the Board of Federation of Badminton of Nigeria.
